Traditional and natural medicine activate your innate self-healing capacities and kindle your connection with the greater web of life.

Traditional European medicine aims to co-create a multi-layered and holistic harmonising of your being as a part of the whole.

Traditional European Medicine (TEM)

Traditional European Medicine is the traditional medical lineage of the European continent, originating in ancient Greece with Hippocrates. It approaches organisms as whole entities which have a certain constitution (just as TCM and Ayurveda). The focus of treatment is therefore not on symptoms, but rather on bringing an organism’s innate constitution back in balance so that the system’s self-healing mechanism is triggered. Some of the therapies of TEM include clinical herbalism, massage and reflex-zone therapy and several forms of drainage and detoxification.

shamanic ritual

The main component of shamanic work is the state of trance, and developing our direct relationship with the forces of nature. Trance allows us to enter into another state of consciousness, where the door to our subconscious is easier to enter. Shamanic work allows us to connect to deep forces running through our being. It allows us to deepen our connection to Self, to retrieve important information and to receive power and insight. Shamanic work, and the honouring of the forces of nature flowing through and interacting with us, provides us with sense of profound belonging, respect for the greater, and gives a deep sense of meaning to certain stages of our lives.

depth psychology
and the transcendent function

depth psychology is a form of psychology and psychotherapy that integrates the spiritual experience and the anima mundi (the soul of the world). depth psychology (aka Jungian analysis) works towards integrating the subconscious and conscious parts of our being for individuation. Individuation is the becoming of our Selves. Rather than a quest for eccentricity or individuality, it is a quest towards a greater awareness of how factors influence our beings on all levels. Some of those factors include our upbringing, our typology, and also more universal rather than personal factors, including the archetypes. Primitively, these are understood as the gods or more generally the animate force. These make up the collective unconscious which is represented in all types of cultural phenomena like myths, fairy tales, and so on. These archetypes form themselves in our beings in many ways, some of which being the anima/animus which points to our relationships with sexual gender and identity, the persona which forms how we represent ourselves and the shadow which constitutes that which a person suppresses from their conscious representation. The Self is the overarching structure of our beings which allows for a harmonious integration of a diverse range of aspects of existence.

Activating the transcendent function is very important in depth psychology as it allows for the emergence of symbolism uniting the conscious and the unconscious. Some tools to active this function are active imagination, dream analysis, sand play, story telling and talk therapy. Psychosomatic integration is an additional tool I developed integrating the transcendent function with somatic awareness.

psychosomatic integration

The subconscious speaks through the body. Not all physical symptoms are necessarily psychosomatic, yet many of our ailments, pains and illnesses are essentially imbalances of the psyche (soul). Creating an intimacy with our bodies and its messages, allows us to integrate the wisdom of the subconscious expressing itself psychosomatically.

psilocybin and amanita ceremonies

The mushroom spirit provides us with the experience of the incredible depth of interconnection. Psilocybin has the incredible potency to support us in breaking free from patterns and addictions through our understanding of our place within the greater web of life. Personally, psilocybin alone pulled me out from a severe depression. Psychedelic ceremonies are approached with a profound sense of reverence and respect. We honour the animate force that flows through these medicines. Preparation and integration are integral parts of the ceremony.

I am a psychoanalyst in training, but I am not (yet) certified to administer what today is called ‘psychedelic assisted therapy’. I have held ceremonial space for psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, psychiatrists and pharmacists, yet my approach is not clinical. During ceremony I tap from shamanic and somatic skills and from my deep personal relationship with the mushroom spirit and other forms of altered states of consciousness.

I do work together with a psychiatrist for screening in order to ensure ceremonial safety.

constitutional readings

Constitutional readings are helpful to understand our own unique design. I tap from traditional European medicine and western astrology to synthesise a complete understanding of your constitution. This is helpful to understand where your strengths and weaknesses are, and also where some hints to your purpose and the strategy in your life may be found. Constitutional readings can provide incredible insight and an objective validation of who you are at your core.

transformative breath-work

Transformative breath-work is an incredible way of deep-diving into our subconscious and of releasing old and pent-up emotional blockages.
